MPAMOT will be led and held accountable by a diverse board with more than 100 years’ combined experience and collective track record in engineering, infrastructure development, investment, and sustainability.
Fiscal and operational governance oversight will form an integral part of our board responsibilities. This is to ensure we deliver excellent results and positive impact to our clients, our communities, and our team, while achieving positive returns.

Chairperson
Ipeleng is the co-founder and CEO of Motseng Investment Holdings, a diversified investment holdings group with investments spanning asset management, integrated property and facilities management, infrastructure investing, logistics and industrial manufacturing for the past two decades. She is a pioneering entrepreneur that spearheaded the vision to introduce a diverse membership base, a mentorship programme and the education trust that supports educating marginalised women in the industry. She is an advocate for transformation and gender mainstreaming. Ipeleng has served on the boards of various unlisted and listed businesses, public sector agencies and non-profit organisations.

Executive member and CEO
As founder, owner and CEO of the first black, woman owned civil consulting engineering firm, Malani Padayachee-Saman has distinguished herself as a visionary entrepreneur, business leader, exemplary professional civil engineer, mentor and spokesperson.
She is committed to mastering technical complexities, while striving towards superior service excellence, development of future engineers; as well as transforming the engineering and development industry through innovative practices and gender mainstreaming.
Her transformational vision and values are underpinned by sound governance that propels the company’s performance. This has set her apart as a first-mover in the industry. She has and continues to contribute to a number of platforms and forums.

Non-executive member
Dempsey Naidoo has 40 years’ experience as an international businessman, consultant, company founder, director and investor. He founded PD Naidoo in 1987 and when Mott MacDonald acquired PD Naidoo in 2013, the team had grown to over 600 employees, under his leadership. He remained at the helm and continued to invest in the development of young professionals.
He is active on a number of boards and shares interests in other businesses too. In 2020, Dempsey was honoured by Kingston University, London with an honorary award as Doctor of the University (Honoris causa) in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Black Economic Empowerment and development of the civil engineering sector in South Africa and the region.
